The Barre Partnership Earns 2026 Accredited Main Street America™ Designation

Barre, VT — The Barre Partnership is proud to announce it has been officially recognized as

a 2026 Accredited Main Street America™ program by the Vermont Downtown Program and

Main Street America.

This prestigious designation is the highest level of recognition for a Main Street program andreflects a commitment to comprehensive, preservation-based economic development andcommunity revitalization. The Barre Partnership’s accreditation marks a significant milestone as its first time achieving Accredited status, joining a network of communities across the countryworking to create vibrant, resilient downtowns.

The Main Street America accreditation recognizes programs that demonstrate excellence in areas including community engagement, organizational capacity, sustainable funding, and strategic economic development. Through its work in downtown Barre, The Barre Partnership continues to support local businesses, activate public spaces, and strengthen connections across the community.

The Barre Partnership works closely with the City of Barre, the Vermont Downtown Program,

and numerous local and regional partners to support economic vitality and enhance quality of life in Barre’s historic downtown district.
