The Barre Winter Farmer’s Market is bringing community, local food, and handmade
goods downtown during the quieter winter months. Held on the 2nd and 4th
Wednesdays of each month from January through April, the market takes
place 3:30–6:30 PM at the Barre Social Club, 105 North Main Street.

The indoor market features a variety of local farmers, bakers, artisans, and specialty
vendors, offering everything from fresh foods and baked goods to handcrafted items
and unique gifts. It’s a welcoming midweek opportunity for residents to shop local,
connect with neighbors, and support the small businesses that help make Barre vibrant
year-round.

Winter can be a challenging season for local businesses following the busy holiday
rush, making community support especially important. We encourage visitors to make
an evening of it! Shop the market and other local businesses and then enjoy dinner or a
warm drink at one of Barre’s many outstanding local restaurants.

By choosing to shop locally this winter, residents help strengthen Barre’s economy and
keep downtown thriving through the slower months.

We think we are very lucky to live and work in the vibrant community of Barre. From
locally owned shops and restaurants to the people behind them, Barre is filled with
places worth discovering and revisiting all year long. What truly sets our community
apart is the pride and care residents show for the people and places that help define
Central Vermont. Whether you’re stopping in to try something new or returning to a
longtime favorite, each visit helps keep our downtown lively and welcoming. Come out
often, explore what’s new, and don’t forget to share a friendly hello with neighbors,
young and old, new or longtime along the way.
